In the spirit of Caleb, I call you to believe that there is no wall
high enough and no people strong enough to resist the will of our God in blessing
His children with victory. By faith, God commanded His people to go in and possess
the Promised Land. However, 10 of the spies lacked confidence in their God and gave
an evil report. Caleb, responding in faith, told the Israelites, “We are well able to
overcome them.”
Dear Brethren,
Thank you so much to those you who prayed and gave to the SOC ministry
to reach North Africa. With the Lord’s blessing Calvary Baptist Church was born in Ouagadougou,
Burkina Faso in September of 2007. This church was planted through the team work of the, International
Baptist Pastors Fellowship for Missions. While Burkina is not a closed Moslem country it is fast
becoming that way. It is our prayer that this church in Burkina would be a strong French training
center for those who are called into the pastoral ministry from the North African countries.
Please continue to pray with us about the needs of the four pastors who are serving as
missionaries in Ouaga. We have been trying to find land for the church but the prices in the city are
very high. One building lot, about 80’ x 80’ is selling for $25,000. Lord willing after the first year
of ministry we will divide the team into two parts and plant another church. Pray for us as we seek
the Lord’s leading as to the next city we will plant a church in. This year we hope to go a survey trip
to Niamey, Niger in order to spy out the land for ministry.
The Spirit of Caleb Ministry is a ministry of MABMI where we try to yoke the strength of
our African churches and Pastors with some of our American churches in order to send missionaries to
needy cities that would could not reach on our own.
We have many capable African missionaries and pastors who are ready to give their lives
for the spread of the gospel but missions giving was not taught in our Africa church for many years.
Therefore, most Africans believe only whites or Americans can serve the Lord as missionaries. By God
grace these wrong ideas are changing and our African churches are learning to give to support their
missionaries in foreign countries. We desperately need your help, with this outreach ministry!
